Flight delays are one of the most common sources of anxiety around airport travel. You've landed, you're tired, and somewhere outside the terminal a driver is waiting. What's happening? Will there be an extra charge? This post explains exactly what we do.
We track your flight before you land
For every return pickup — where we're collecting you from the airport after your flight lands — we monitor your flight in real time from the moment it departs. We use live flight tracking data, not just the scheduled arrival time. If your flight is delayed by 20 minutes, we know before you land. If it's delayed by 3 hours, we know that too.
What we do when a flight is delayed
- We adjust our own departure time to arrive at the airport at the right moment — not the originally scheduled one
- We send you a message to let you know we're tracking the delay and will be there when you land
- If the delay is very significant (3+ hours), we'll call to confirm the updated plan
- Your driver waits in arrivals with a name board, regardless of how long baggage takes to come through
Is there an extra charge for a delayed flight?
No. Never. A flight delay is not your fault, and we will not charge you for it. The price you were quoted is the price you pay regardless of whether the flight lands on time, 2 hours late, or in the middle of the night.
This applies to delays at Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, and London City — every airport we serve.

What about outbound flights — if there's a delay before departure?
For outbound journeys (where we're taking you to the airport), we monitor the route and traffic rather than the flight itself. If a flight is cancelled or significantly delayed before you've left home, call us as soon as you know — we'll adjust your pickup time or, if the flight is cancelled entirely, we'll work out the best plan with you. There's no cancellation fee for delays caused by the airline.
What if baggage takes a long time?
Your driver will wait. There's no clock running in arrivals. We know that baggage carousels can take 45 minutes at a busy Heathrow terminal. We plan for it. You'll find your driver in the arrivals hall with your name on a board — take whatever time you need through customs and baggage, and we'll be there.
